Today is Thursday, November 20th Celebration on the Fourth in Oak Ridge!
A full day of activities is planned both on and off the water. Many activities for the entire family including a giant inflatable fire engine, regional music acts including Mic Harrison, formerly of the V-Roys and Superdrag, wake board competitions, boat displays, helicopter flyovers by Air-Evac Lifeteam, ending with an exciting fireworks display by the Oak Ridge Fire Department. “We’re excited to be a part of this event that celebrates the freedom we too often take for granted,” Jim O’Connor, Oak Ridge City Manager said. “This event will give people of all ages something to participate in on the fourth.” “This is a great opportunity to work with the City of Oak Ridge to produce an event that the community will embrace and be proud of,” Charlie Barker, Operations Manager of M & M Productions USA said. Sponsors of the event include WVLT Volunteer TV, Malibu Boats, Overboard Watersports, and Air Evac Lifeteam. “Celebration on the 4th” will start at 2:30 p.m. with a wakeboard competition. The musical entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. and the fireworks conclude the evening at 10 p.m.
Shuttle buses run from Roane State Community College to Melton Hill Park from 12 noon to 10:45 p.m. |
